News:
1. I hate my boss. I. hate. him. I usually don't hate easily, but... he lied and betrayed me for no good reason. If at least he'd used me for his own advantage I'd have understood. Let me explain, I asked to go to one of two weddings. Both would have me miss an hour of work, either at the beginning or the end of my shift. My boss tells me that I can't miss work because he has a party to go to and can't leave my colleague alone. I agree to come in to work despite my desire to attend a wedding - any wedding really, to feed my childhood dreams. Then he spends the entire day being an asshole to clients, and when I ask him why he didn't go to the party he lied about it. LIED. Said he'd never said there was a party. Whatever. He may be able to convince himself, but not me.(/end rant)

2. I am now doing a double major in women's studies and English lit instead of a minor and a major. Yeah over-achievement!

3. Audrey's moving out makes me feel kind of worried, kind of happy, and kind of relieved. I am looking forward to redecorating, and creating a healthier space to live in. But I am afraid that because she is moving so far away that it may precipitate a break-up. I guess buying a webcam will help. We shall see.

4.I am so excited about the sims 3. It's going to be totally awesome!

5. I was working when the protest against police brutality went down at place des arts. The newspapers are full of shit. With the police presence so heavy, everyone was on edge. Treating people like criminals before they've done anything, may kinda make them want to break shit. I think it's just an indicator of a larger problem. If these kids can't express their anger any other way than by breaking shit... then there must be a serious societal problem. Saying that a cop was injured because he got a brick on his arm is a little pathetic considering that even journalists were brutalized by the police at the protest... and yet their voices are not being heard. Damnit.

Was nice and quiet.

On a total side note, I'm very excited about the sims 3, and am planning on recreating both Criminal Minds and the L word. Just for kicks.

Only 4 weeks until schools out for summer!
Maybe I should be writing papers...
Well, this last week has been markedly uneven in its rhythms. I have been frantic... and terribly bored all the same day.

Highs:
Worked things out with Audrey, and had a lovely inexpensive V-day.
Took mad pictures of Andrea, my colleague, at work since my boss was away.
My midterm wasn't yesterday, it's tomorrow! Yay!
Shoe shopping
Lows:
Midterm anxiety, and declining social life, make me a dull gal.
Not being angry about anything. Maybe I'll even get into it, and start posting regularly... but I won't get too hasty.

Highs:
*Going out on Saturday night with Friends, dressing up for the occasion, and running into a heinous ex. See the ex wasn't the high, it was walking away from him with an extra swing in my hips as a final "fuck you" that felt delicious.
* Going to my twentieth century women's writing class. So many lovely people to talk to you and - better yet - listen to.
* Catching up with Maria on every possible occasion.
* Patching things up with Audrey.

Lows:
*Being wrongfully accused by Audrey.
*Enjoying sudoku's more than school work.

I did.

I was feeling depressed as hell for reasons known to most, and I was slumping on home when a woman spoke to me. She said "it's good to get a little excerise." I stopped in my tracks turned 90 degrees and looked at her standing 2 meters away. The only thing remarkable about her is how easily she could blend in. She was wearing a grey coat, mittens and hat, her face was obscured by her large bifocal glasses and she was my angel. We chatted about the holidays and she said she quit smoking in 1972, and had only lost the weight she'd gained last year. She wished me a happy new year and departed, lugging her metal trolley behind her.

Never have I felt so blessed by an encounter. It felt like life was telling me that it wasn't done with me yet, that I was here to stay, and to have hope for the new year.

I just met an angel.

Well, I suppose it is time for me to post a blog.

I had a good Christmas celebration, made notable on Christmas eve my excellent presents given (cds, a poem, a scarf, home-made X-mas ornaments) and received (airplaine tickets!!!!, hiking backpack, little trinkets). It was nice evening, that ended with the Fifth Element, a great movie, in many respects.

On the 25th, I woke up at a fairly reasonable hour, and my parents, Takuma (the japanese student staying with us), walked to Chinatown, for some great Vietnamese lunch at Pho Bac.
Then Takuma and I did a little bit of shopping and took the subway home. Guest started to arrive at around 6 o'clock and it was indeed a merry Christmas, though unfortunately it wasn't a white Christmas.

Fortunately for me, LC decided to stay the night, and we watched the Muppets do Christmas or something of that sort, a movie I'd purchased a couple years before but had never watched to date. We had a good time, and talked ourselves silly until 6 in the morning.

I was hoarse some part of the next day, partially because we accidentally both woke up at 8:30 and starting talking again. So we eventually got up and about, parted ways for a bit and I went Boxing Day shopping with Tewoo, and Takuma, my too pretty oriental boys, or the ninja squad, depending how you think of it.

I saw LC off at the bus stop, I'll miss him dearly, he's such a genuine person, it's hard to come across anyone so damn open and fair.

Came home, slept, ate, slept, woke up. And here I am in the middle of the night, since I went to bed at 7 pm, wired as if on caffeine.

Merry Christmas to All, and to All a Good Night.

I haven't posted in a while I've been busy!

Mariel Came over, we made a joyous cherry cake with sprinkles, watched Corpse Bride, and then went to go see Charlotte's Web! Enough to make me even more vegetarian, really. Honnestly, it was a 3-kleenex movie. We also saw a friend of Mariel's, Laura, who I found splendid. We parted ways, and I met up with Fred.

Fred's left for Gaspesie, it was strange to sleep alone in my bed. We're having a bit of a rough time... it's strange, I guess it'll do us some good to spend a little time apart. I miss him loads yet...

I went to a party on Friday night, where I saw 40 or so counsellors from the camp that I worked at the past two summers. I saw a lot of people that I missed sorely. Namely Zoukini, Fushia, Kaivo and Zikmu. It did me good to see them. I saw tons of people I've seen regularly like Machaa, Amandine, Peloche, etc. It was great, really. I went to bed at sexy Shibouki's apartment at 5 in the morning. And greatly wanted to er, kiss at least 4 people, like Shibouki, for example. I was wearing the dress I wore to Charlotte's brother's prom. A polka dot dress that looks stunning on me.

Yesterday I went Christmas shopping with my friend Marie-Christine and ran into darling LC, who called me up unexpectedly:
LC: Hi, Léa, it's LC
Léa: Hi LC!
LC: I'm in Montreal.
Léa: Really?
LC: Yeah I'm at the Eaton Center, Christmas shopping.
Léa: Really that's where I'm going right now.
LC: I'm in the food court.
[...]

And thus LC and Léa met at the food court, and spent joyous times shopping for various Christmas delights. And coffee. And frivolity. And gossip.

I've come to realize how behind I am in Christmas gifts, and am I going to be spending the day franticly completing presents. I went to Church this morning, was a nice service, with carol-singing. I enjoyed it.

Happy Holidays!

Well, haven't posted in like an entire day. Scandal.

Ok well last night Dann and his sorta-semi-almost-kinda-girlfriend came over. With Jai. Was cool, I guess. Sorta hung out. Nothing extremely interesting. Except that:
My friend Arrianne came over. We made pancakes:

Pancakes
1 avocado and a half
1 banana and a half
2 eggs
Shit load of flour
Salt

Sauce
Pomegranate juice
Vanilla Yogurt

Content
Cauliflower fried in Olive Oil
Curry powder
Cinamon.

First make pancakes. Then make sauce. Then make the content. Then combine on a plaque cover with cheeze and let it melt in the oven. Eat!

That was pretty tasty. And strange.
I'd forgotten my bus pass at Machha's so I went to go get it, met Arianne and then hung out.

Today:
Woke up at six because was puking. Way to sick for school was he. Went to the clinic got a doctors note. Came home 6 hours later. He took medicine fter much convincing. And spent the rest of the day sleeping. He still is. I took a bath, a nap, a snack. I had supper. But I wasn't feeling great. My darling daddy rented all three lord of the rings dvds for me... yay!

Yesterday was a slow day, spent some time with my mother. Was nice. Ha. Who would have thought that I'd say that? I'm in a new frame of mind these days, trying to make up for what communication we lack, trying to bridge a gap, not just between my mother and me, but between many people and me. It's about a certain frame of mind really.

Last night I accidentally showed my boob to the cameras at Fred's job. It was greatly embarrassing for both of us. Somehow it turned into a huge fight, terribly painful.

Eventually though we got to my friend Florence's house and we ate their leftovers (sushi for Fred, rice and avocado for me) and had a smashing good time. Was nice to see the Art Gang outside of school and grow more intimate with them.

Last night I went to my friend Machha's house, and it was loads of fun. Nothing like spending an evening with a sexy man and his friends. I made pad thai, with their help and it was tasty. Yummyness.

Had a couple of cups of wine, and had a very pleasant evening minus my boyfriend being a dick at one point.

SHIT i couldn't believe that the subway was flooded at berri! Seriously fucked things up.
Oh well. A part from that all's well.

I have to do laundry and make animals out of cardboard for the intergenerational service at my congregation tomorrow. wee.

Maybe I'll have to Van Gogh them.

I'm still on strike... it's been almost 5 weeks now! This is totally out of hand. For pro-strike propaganda type 1 now.

What shall I spew out today? hmm hmm? Not too much nonsense I hope. Today there's a strike at Vanier. How exciting, no? Yes. I'm going to help them picket, and be good little "grèvistes". OH yes, I am enjoying listening to emo and emo-core. Laugh as much as you want. I enjoy being corny and lonely thank you very much.

If only I could scream like a pretty hardcore boy. Then I could pass for one. Damn. Oh well. I need a hair cut damnit. Why? 'Cause I get knots in my hair. I hate knots. They want to dread themselves, I refuse to brush them.

I have a friend in my pocket. His name is Sunny. He's a yellow skittle. Everytime I wear my coat and put my hand in my pocket I'm all happy. Because it's a surprise everytime. It's like a portable hug.

so yeah. that's about it. I couldn't find a picture of a yello skittle. So I'll take a picture of him later.
